Sheila Giordano
Claims Legal Analyst
She assists attorneys and paralegals, including reviewing new claims files and solidifying the what, where, when, how and why of their cases. Her job is to research, analyze and summarize the pieces of the puzzle and help build a more accurate and fully developed case for the client.
She brings 20 years in the insurance industry to CPLG, first at Farmers, rising to property field supervisor. Then at Safeco/Liberty she began in the mold unit, moved to writing estimates as a field adjuster and eventually became a senior large loss specialist. She handled large structure and contents losses, suspect fraud claims, represented the company at mediations and small claims court and observed trials.
Off duty
Sheila says frequent moves growing up as a Navy brat probably accounts for her love of variety. She’s also crazy about animals, especially her black cats—Annie, a real diva, and Mister, an elderly sweetheart.
She supports City of Hope where stem cell rescue treatment and high-dose chemo saved her from breast cancer at age 35. “Surviving taught me that so much of what we agonize over really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things,” says Sheila. She’s happy to simply go outside, breathe fresh air and hear birds chirping and children playing. She has counseled other women going through breast cancer.
