In 2023, Matthew Balmuth joined the Glendale office of Colman Perkins Law Group.

For the past several years, he has specialized in insurance defense work. His experience includes defending auto, premises liability and habitability cases, breach of contract and bad faith claims.

Matthew has taken hundreds of depositions, handled examinations under oath and represented clients at mediation. He is particularly passionate about legal writing and has prepared thousands of responsive pleadings, motions and briefs on behalf of his clients.

He previously worked as a civil litigator for employment discrimination and wrongful termination cases.

Matthew attended Southwestern Law School on a scholarship for academic excellence and was a member of the moot court honors program. He was admitted to the California bar in December of 2013, and is authorized to practice in all State Courts of California, as well as federal court in the Central District of California. Additionally, he is admitted to practice in the State of Tennessee.

When he’s not working, Matthew enjoys road trips, hiking with his wife, Rachel, and playing tea party or dinosaurs with their young daughter, Morgan. Growing up with a younger brother who has autism, Matthew has strong ties to the special education community and volunteers at the Special Olympics.
