Matthew B. Roberts brings more than ten years of civil litigation experience in state and federal courts. He began his legal career at a boutique corporate law firm in downtown Minneapolis. In 2013 he became a Californian for life. For five years in the San Francisco Bay Area, he represented insurance companies and their policyholders in a range of civil litigation matters, including coverage/bad faith, construction defect, wrongful death and catastrophic injury. He has substantial jury trial experience (first and second chair), and has extensive appellate experience in state and federal courts of appeal.

In 2018 he transitioned to the Plaintiff bar, handling consumer mass litigation against Fortune 500 manufacturers. In 2023 he joined Colman Perkins to assist with coverage litigation, with a special emphasis on law & motion, discovery, and appellate practice.

Matthew graduated from the University of Iowa, with honors, with a degree in Comparative Literature and a minor in German. He obtained his law degree in 2011 from the University of Minnesota. He also previously worked as a research analyst on the trading floor of a macro hedge fund. Away from the office, you will find him off-roading, playing chess, and being a friend to all dogs.
