John N. Haramalis
Partner
John N. Haramalis is a partner in the Glendale office of Colman Perkins Law Group, a position he has held since joining the firm in 2024. A former associate general counsel in the insurance industry, he managed nationwide litigation, claims, and underwriting and advised on business operations at all levels. John’s previous private law practice included criminal defense and personal injury, among other areas, and he brings seasoned experience from both plaintiff and defense sides that has proven invaluable to successfully resolving complex cases.
John is licensed in California, Washington, and the District of Columbia. He has a J.D. from Santa Clara University, an LLM from the University of Connecticut in Insurance Law, and an S.J.D. from Golden Gate University.
John is a former U.S. Army Colonel and Chief of Staff of a NATO Combined Task Force in Sarajevo, Bosnia where he led operations that captured four of the remaining six internationally indicted fugitive war criminals and then worked with prosecutors in The Hague to ensure their convictions. Afterward, John served with the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan, conducting counterinsurgency operations to help stabilize the country.
John is a consummate veterans advocate for servicemembers before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he routinely assists with disability compensation claims and other matters affecting the veteran community.
A vintage car enthusiast, John collects, restores, and drives Mercedes-Benz classic cars of the 1990s. He is an avid outdoorsman and has traveled to over 50 countries.
