Jacob R. Slobodien is an attorney who joined Colman Perkins in 2024. Jacob earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School and graduated with a concentration in Civil Litigation. He further distinguished himself from his peers as a valuable member of the Byrne Trial Advocacy Team, an elite mock trial team that held the impressive national rank of 4th during his tenure.

Jacob embarked on his legal journey after a successful career in the national security and intelligence sector, where he earned a Master’s degree in National Security Studies from the University of Haifa. After earning his MA, Jacob worked for The Counterterrorism Group. There, he led a team of analysts in producing detailed threat assessment reports, tackling complex security issues with innovative solutions.

Following law school, Jacob gained valuable litigation experience at a boutique family law firm in Beverly Hills, where he frequently appeared in court to argue substantive motions and further honed his litigation skills. Jacob also worked to resolve complex, high-profile cases through alternative dispute resolution and extensive negotiations.

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys spending quality time with his beloved Bernedoodle, Annie, his needy cat, Thor, and his wonderful wife, Emma. If Jacob isn’t spending time with his family, you can usually find him on the golf course. His dedication to both his clients and his personal life underscores his commitment to excellence as an attorney. Jacob is eager to continue making a positive impact in the legal field.
