On October 25, 2019, attorney Jon Colman joined instructors from Impact General in hosting a staged auto accident seminar at the Pacific Palms Resort in the City of Industry.

After engineering several on-site fender-benders, the team members applied forensic and litigation savvy to help attending police, claims adjusters, SIU investigators and other industry professionals spot the signs of fraud.

An insurance fraud expert, Jon’s eager to share his knowledge, saying, “The average Californian pays an extra $400 to $700 for car insurance every year because of fraud costs.”

These scams are becoming bolder and more sophisticated, so professionals must be able to recognize the trends, distinguish a contrived crash from an actual accident and know how to prevent the scammers from winning.
